This position is a 38-week position that provides quality retail food services by preparing and cooking menu items for staff and visitors. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Responsible for preparation of food while on duty and with advance preparation of food for next shift as needed.
Prepares ingredients for menu items and cooks food according to recipes for daily meals and specials.
Assists in inventory of food and beverage as directed.
Occasionally performs shift cash in and cash out, maintaining accurate amount of money and petty cash in cash drawer.
Occasionally manages point of sale system, including swiping ID cards, collecting money from customers, and ensuring that no non-meal-plan customers consume food or beverages without paying.
Occasionally responsible for washing dishes and pots.
Demonstrates compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to the Maine State Liquor Laws.
Demonstrates compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
Demonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service.
This position works a rotating schedule from August to May that will include daytime, evening, night, and weekend shifts as well as extended hours as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and in meeting the facilities needs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to use the computer and telephone for internal and external communications.
The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma and either five (5) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training.
Must be of legal age to sell/monitor sale of alcoholic beverages. Proficient in the use of cash management and/or point of sale systems. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
